I did not set out to have a personal goal to run in the Oklahoma Memorial Half Marathon when I began my weight loss journey in April of 2012. My goal was to lose the weight I had carried all my adult life. I hit that goal in January of 2013 losing 150 pounds. During that journey I learned how to and became hooked on running. When the idea of running in the Memorial occurred it was only a natural thing to say "let's do it." This fundraiser is to pay tribute to those we lost that day in 1995 and to celebrate the tenacity of the human spirit that forges on. And I want to say thank you to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for seeing me through this journey.
