BENEFITING: Museum Of Special Art
Museum of Special Art is the very first visual arts disability museum in the United States - and we need your help to GROW! Watch our Video to see our story!
Thanks to our supporters and a tremendous amount of tireless dedication, the Museum of Special Art (MOSA) has been thriving. We are so pleased to be the first art museum of our kind in the country!
MOSA began as a dream through NW Special Artists, a vision of giving access to the arts to children and adults with disabilities. Without great support or mentorship, it is often very difficult for individuals with disabilities to have opportunities equal to those of nondisabled individuals for creating artwork, accessing careers in art, exhibiting their work, and selling their artwork. Many stunning artistic creations are never exhibited or displayed, nor are these artists recognized for their achievements and talents. MOSA is changing that, every day.
After two years as our own not-for-profit organization, the dream that began at NW Special Artists in 2013 is growing in beautiful ways. We are proud to have featured over 70 artists through a variety of shows. We are looking ahead to a bright future – with your help.
This is our first public fundraiser. All money raised will help provide services and programs in the arts for individuals with disabilities, funding art materials, and 2018 exhibitions.
We are proud to be partnering with 8 other disability art organizations on the new Road Ahead exhibition, a traveling collaborative art show. The Road Ahead will feature work from disabled artists located throughout the country; this is the first time many of them have been featured in the Pacific Northwest.
Additionally, we are looking at the very real possibility of moving locations. Bothell Country Village will soon be closing and we want to be ready. Our dream is to relocate into a space in King County, one that will support us through our next phase of growth.
We hope that you will join us! Please, contribute as you are able – your support will help extraordinary artists of all ages fulfill their dreams. www.museumofspecialart.org
