Mote Marine Laboratory's Run for the Turtles
EVENT DATE: Apr 02, 2016
Mote’s Marine Laboratory’s 30th annual Run for the Turtles 5K supports and raises awareness for Mote's Sea Turtle Conservation & Research program.
WHY: Each year, Mote’s Sea Turtle Conservation and Research Program monitors 35 miles of Sarasota County beaches every day during nesting season (May 1-Oct. 31), documenting each nest and protecting both nests and hatchlings from natural and manmade threats. Just $30 will provide protection for 15 sea turtle nests!
GOOD NEWS IS: Mote partners, Postive Tracks and Gulf Coast Community Foundation, want to help youth Turtle Run participants raise funds and awareness for Mote! Positive Tracks' Tips and Tools and Coordinator, Chris Pfahler, will help you learn how and why to turn your sweat into gold for Mote.
BEST NEWS IS: All dollars raised here by ages 23 or under will be doubled by Postive Tracks and Gulf Coast Community Foundation.
