Mothers helping Mothers is a refuge in which Teens in need of support and guidance can receive mentoring and educational encouragement that offers empowerment in such a way that it promotes positive self-esteem while enhancing teen parenting skills.
Mothers Helping Mothers is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering teen mothers ages of 12-24. In doing so, Mother Helping Mothers (MHM) offers resources to the community agency for support with raising their children, continuing education and providing support.
Our sole purpose is breaking the cycle of teen pregnancy in our community. More than 1000 teen mothers throughout Columbus have attempted to get assistance through similar organizations but failed to obtain effective assistance due to the lack of support. We will strive to assist these mothers through support services, education and mentors.
According to Nationwide Children’s Hospital http://www.nationwidechildrens.org/full-potential-teen-pregnancy, only 30 percent of teen mothers graduate from high school. (MHM) is a non-profit organization founded by Cortesha Sanders and my mission is to assisted pre-and post teens with overcoming barriers to enhance economic, social, and career situations.
