What:

Appalachian Mountain Brewery and High Gravity Adventures have partnered to bring you the first ever Mountain Ninja Warrior event!  We have taken the idea from the popular TV show American Ninja Warrior, and made our own version to represent our community here in the high country. The timed race will consist of approximately 6 ground elements and a route navigating the three levels of High Gravity Adventure’s aerial adventure park.

How the Teams Work:

We have chosen 8 organizations here in the high country to compete against each other.  These 8 organizations have also chosen a local non-profit to partner with for the competition.  Each team will select a male and female competitor.  Leading up to the event each team will be working together to raise money towards their non-profit.  The money raised will work as an advantage for the teams the night of the competition (more details below).

8 Sponsored Teams  (Sponsor listed first, then associated Nonprofit):

Chetola Resort – Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation

Appalachian Ski Mountain – Appalachian Ski Patrol

Appalachia Cookie Company – Hunger and Health Coalition of Boone

High Country Jewelry – Middle Fork Greenway

Triple Crown Bouldering Series – Carolina Climbers Coalition

Mountain Times – Special Olympics of Watauga County

Center 45 – High Country Local First

ASU Athletics – Kay Yow Cancer Fund

How Fundraising Works:

Each team has their own funding page that will be shared across social media.  For every $100 a team raises in the time leading up to the event, they will receive a 1 second advantage on the night of the competition. The nonprofit associated with each team will keep all the money raised for them.

Prizes:

  • There will be prizes from sponsors for the Open Amateur Competitions
  • Team that wins fundraising efforts in time leading up to the event: Wins a Collaboration Beer with AMB where sponsor and nonprofit logos are featured on the beer cans, and a percentage of the beer sales proceeds are donated back to the Non-profit.
  • Team that wins the timed competition: Wins a Corporate retreat for entire organization to High Gravity Adventures
