BENEFITING: MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL
After years of contemplating the idea with fear and trepidation, I have finally decided to take on the challenge of running New York City's marathon. I will be following in the footsteps of many friends who have accomplished this feat with the kind of ease and grace that I can only hope for. Most importantly, I will be running to support Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center.
With uncertainty surrounding healthcare, this organization serves an incredibly important function. It provides access to healthcare for adolescents who need it and would not otherwise have it. At the helm of MSAHC stands Angela Diaz, a rock star role model, friend, and leader who runs the marathon year after year to spread word about this cause. Without Angela's help I personally would have struggled to find housing in New York when I arrived on its threshold many years ago. The love and dedication that she and her leadership team pour into this organization has resulted in happier, healthier, and smarter adolescent lives in NYC. In support of MSAHC and Angela, I plan to cross that finish line this year, one way or another.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and will make a difference in a young person's life.
Thank you for your support!
More on the Center...
Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (the Center) is a unique, free health clinic providing comprehensive and integrated medical, sexual and reproductive, mental health, dental, optical and health and wellness education services to more than 10,000 young people between the ages of 10 and 24 each year. At the Center, all young people are welcome to receive quality health services that are confidential and provided in a warm, welcoming and safe health home by experts in adolescent health. For 48 years, the Center has been a critical resource for young people in NYC and beyond, most of whom would otherwise go without care.
I am running for this important cause to make a difference in the lives of our young people, and the health of our community. Every $1,000 raised will provide a full year of comprehensive health care to a young person in need.
Make a donation and see the impact you can have in one year:
$1,000 = Comprehensive services for one young person
$500 = Comprehensive exam, dental exam and cleaning
$250 = Three mental health counseling sessions
$100 = One comprehensive session with a health educator
$50 = One lab test
$25 = One prescription medication
$10 = A MetroCard for a young person to visit the Center
