BENEFITING: Energy Outreach Colorado
Nearly 1 in 4 Coloradans are considered low-income. Many are seniors on fixed incomes, families facing sudden job loss or medical emergencies, and individuals and children with life-altering disabilities. These low-income Colorado households can be devastated by unaffordable energy costs. The insecurity of being able to afford home energy also means a struggle to afford food, health care and housing. Households are forced to prioritize between these necessities and paying for home energy. Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC) addresses the immediate need for energy assistance among low-income Coloradans by providing a direct assistance payment to the client’s utility provider, along with education about energy consumption and conservation behaviors to provide longer-term solutions. We also offer programs to weatherize and provide energy efficiency upgrades for low-income Colorado homes. We believe all Colorado families deserve access to affordable, reliable energy in their homes so they can move toward self-sufficiency. 95% of every dollar donated to Energy Outreach Colorado goes directly toward our low-income energy programs – helping your neighbors in need. $430 will provide safety and warmth to a family in need this winter - our goal is to help 20 families stay safe and warm this year. Make a donation and help support Team “Move your Feet for Heat” at the Colfax Marathon, ½ Marathon, Urban 10 Miler and 5K.
