THE STORY:

It's back! Move Your Phi't is returning to Convention this summer and we need your participation to make it a success. This 5K Run/Walk raises important funds to support leadership training, scholarships, Forget Me Not grants, heart health initiatives and heritage projects funded by Alpha Phi Foundation.

GETTING STARTED

Register

To register, click on the Join Our Team tab, create your own personal page and make a donation of $25. This is your registration fee and it will officially secure your spot in the event. It also counts toward your overall fundraising goal. All registered participants will receive water and snacks before, during and after the race. Finishers will receive a medal.

Form a Team

Consider building a Team with other women attending from your Chapter or Region. Anybody can form a Team, and there is no minimum or maximum number of members. Participating as part of a Team can make the Race even more exciting. To create a Team, click on the Join Our Team tab and set up a Team page. Once you've made your $25 donation, you can invite others to join your team and do the same.

Set a Goal

Set a fundraising goal and let everyone know! We suggest a minimum of $250, but don't be afraid to set it higher. Your efforts are helping advance women's lives!

Fundraise

Move Your Phi't participants have until Saturday, June 30 to post donations to their fundraising page in order to qualify for limited-edition fundraising incentives.

Raise $50 or more and receive a crimson Alpha Phi My Tie.
Raise $250 or more and receive a short-sleeve dri-fit shirt, plus the crimson My Tie.
Raise $500 or more and receive a red yoga mat and bag, plus the dri-fit shirt and crimson My Tie.

To get started, join our team and make a $25 donation. This is your registration fee. It also counts toward your overall fundraising goal.

Once you've set up your personal page, you can customize it with photos and your own message or story about why you are participating as a runner or walker. This encourages people to support your efforts.

Next, send an email to your friends, chapter sisters, advisors, family and neighbors asking for donations to support your fundraising efforts. The email should include a link directly to your personal webpage where they can make a contribution to you online as well as leave messages of support. Don't forget to also send an email thanking your donors for their support!

Follow that up with a post on your Facebook and Twitter pages. This is a great way to extend your fundraising efforts to your network of family and friends.

If you have a personal blog or website, you can embed the Move Your Phi't widget, complete with a link for people to donate! Click on the Widgets link and copy the embed code to paste in your blog or website.

Offline Pledges/Gifts

If you have any pledges you've collected offline, please bring them in an enclosed envelope along with a sheet of paper that includes the following:

1. Name of each donor
2. Email address of each donor
3. Amount given by each donor
4. Total amount collected

Envelopes can be dropped off at the check-in table on Race Day. Offline gifts can also be mailed to:

Welcome by Emcee, Laura Schwartz.

Official Warm-Up with Celebrity Host, Courtney Rainville (Beta Zeta - Idaho), contestant on "The Biggest Loser."

6:15 a.m.
5K Run/Walk Starts (walkers line up behind runners to begin route)

Water and snacks will be provided before and after the race. Hydration Stations will be located periodically throughout the course.

All finishers will receive a medal.
