Moving moved the mover's money
Organized by: Jo Hafford
So, this one is personal. I left Arizona for Georgia on not much more than a wing and a prayer. My support network had moved away, I lost the apartment at Landmark thanks to an unprofessional manager and an idiot who picked a fight in my unit, and DDS admitted to having botched my claim and then denied it anyway. So when a friend offered me a place to live just outside Atlanta, I took it. I want to tell you this much - it's a great city. People are friendly, the cost of living is comparable to Phoenix, and the economy is more diversified which means more types of work available and possibly the chance to return to the workforce. It's definitely a better starting point than where I was in Arizona. Except for one problem. The trip here exhausted my resources and I can't accept delivery of the stuff the movers are moving. It took a full week, used far more gas and I had to replace a tire and a windshield on the way. My friend's place still needs repairs before I'm comfortable moving everything in as well. I got the notice yesterday that the movers are en route from Arizona, so they should be here some time the week of the 18th. I will need to be able to pay them the balance due of $898.12, plus whatever it costs me to change delivery from the address they have to a storage unit. I don't have the money. My only other option here is to sell the car, which leaves me no way to get anywhere and establish myself with a doctor, a rheumatologist, and social services. I am going to send my landlord a last offer to prevent me from suing him, but that takes time that I don't have. Thus, I am asking you for help paying the final moving expenses. If anything changes that reduces the amount (like the refund check from my renter's policy arriving), and I am pursuing everything i can think of this weekend to raise funds, but I could use a hand here. I hate asking for help, but I'm grateful to have people I can ask.
