Since I was in fourth grade, I have been surrounded by brave family members. My sister and two of my brother-in-laws are currently Chicago Police Officers. With this dangerous type of job, it worries me that one day I will no longer have one of them in my life due to an incapacitating accident or deadly service call while on duty. In fact, it scares me to think of the struggles both my niece and nephew will endure without their parents. My family is not the only one at risk of having a family member catastrophically injured in the line of duty; there are hundreds of other families with the same dilemma. Therefore, I would like to run “The Run to Remember 5K” on May 4, 2013 to help raise money for the families with fallen police officers and to help raise awareness.
“The Run to Remember”, which takes place at 1420 South Museum Campus on Chicago’s lakefront, raises money for The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. My goal is to raise a minimum of $500 to donate to The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. The CPMF helps the families of fallen police officers or catastrophically injured on duty by creating school scholarships for their children and generously donating money to the families. With the help of your donations, the CPMF will continue to provide support and assistance to the families of Chicago Police Officers’ for sacrificing their lives.
Lets keep moving FORWARD!!!
