USMNT Jersey Raffle Online Entry Instructions

Anyone who donates $15 or more is automatically entered in our raffle to win a jersey autographed by the entire 2014 World Cup team, including coaches.

1) Donate to the project using your full name. Donate $15 per ticket or for a better chance at winning, donate $60 for 5 tickets.

2) After donating, send an email titled "Jersey Raffle Entry" to info@passitonsoccer.org with your name, phone number, amount donated/tickets purchased and mailing address. This step is required for entry in the raffle.

The raffle will take place during the USA vs. Germany World Cup game on June 26. If you live in the Seattle area, you can also enter in-person at any American Outlaws-Seattle watch party. Ticket prices are subject to change. If you have already donated at least $15, you are automatically entered in the raffle.

Who We Are and What We're Doing

We are Vivek Ramakrishnan and Ben Makansi, students at Columbia University and soccer aficionados. Additionally, Noah Schoen and Will Pretto will be joining us on the project's fundraising team. We are working with the Abato Foundation of Mpigi, Uganda to build a sustainable community soccer field in Mpigi. With the help of a generous grant from the Columbia University chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon, we were able to purchase the land for the project and volunteers have started to clear it. Now, we are fundraising for the additional costs needed to complete the construction of the field.

Why Mpigi

Mpigi is a town of 40,000 people just outside the capital of Kampala. Despite the popularity of soccer in Mpigi, there are only two soccer fields in the area and one of them is scheduled to be converted into a commercial market. The shortage of soccer and recreational space has driven strong community support for a new field, and the project has been officially supported by the Mpigi Town Council and other local government offices. The field will be located adjacent to the Abato School in Mpigi, and will be managed by the Abato Foundation. In addition to soccer, the field will serve as a community recreational/gathering space and will be used for Abato's other programming, including health and education initiatives.

How Your Donation Will Actually Help

$15 covers the cost of 10 liters of heavy-duty engine oil and fuel for the machinery that levels the field

$50 covers the cost of one layer of mulch over the field

$200 covers the cost of both goal frames and nets

$500 covers the cost of clearing and grading half of the field

About Abato

As part of his work with Pass It On Soccer, a non-profit he founded, Vivek visited Uganda in July 2011 and forged a close relationship with Moses Kalanzi, Founder and CEO of the Abato Foundation. Abato is a non-profit organization based in Mpigi, Uganda that runs a pre-school, elementary school, soccer program and provides general education services to the broader Mpigi community. Since 2012, Pass It On Soccer and the Abato Foundation have been co-hosting the annual Pass It On Soccer Cup in Uganda. Beyond overseeing the day-to-day management of the field, Abato has committed substantial financial support to the ongoing maintenance of the field.
