BENEFITING: AINSLEYSANGELS OF AMERICA
I met the Rossiter Family last year when their son played goalie on both of my sons hockey teams. I spoke to Mr. Rossiter one night at hockey practice and he shared with me the story of Ainsley and how his oldest daughter, Briley, wrote a book about her. The book is about how the family coped with the tragic news of Ainsley' s diagnoses and how they found ways to help others. I was so impressed and inspired that Briley, a middle school student, wrote and published a book that shared the story of Ainsely. I bought the book to read to my 1st grade class (2014-2015). I was even more surprised by how my class responded after I read "Born and Angel" to them. They too were inspired by the story of Ainsley and wanted to do something to help. They asked if they could be an "angel" and push in races or collect money. They reached out to family members and friends and raised $1,240.00 for Ainsley's Angels. After recently hearing of Ainsley's passing, we are even more motivated this year to raise more money and to keep Ainsley's inspiration alive!
