BENEFITING: U.S. Fund for UNICEF
EVENT DATE: Dec 06, 2013
Every year Mrs.Hodaba's class of third graders spearheads the UNICEF campaign at Arthur S. May Elementary School (previously know as Arlington Elementary School) in Poughkeepsie, New York. Each student becomes an expert on the history of UNICEF, the issues facing children around the world, and the rights of all children. The students create posters, write announcements for the school and letters to local businessmen, in addition to Trick or Treating for UNICEF and counting all the money collected. This year they earned $546.35. This is the lowest total ever collected!
So the ASM students in Mrs. Hodaba's class decided to try to earn even more by putting their plea online. The students have created a movie on the Rights of Children that you can view by clicking on the left arrow button under the picture of our school. More expert videos will be added by the students as they research and collect data about the issues facing children around the world.
