BENEFITING: National Multiple Sclerosis Society
EVENT DATE: Jun 28, 2014
I'm pleased to have the honor of joining “Team Braking Wind” for the 2014 Bike MS Cape Cod Getaway beginning on Saturday June 28. I’ll be pedaling with over 2,000 other riders from the University of Massachusetts in Boston through the coastal towns of the South Shore and Cape Cod to help raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
I'm fortunate enough to be riding for MS for the second time. The first was through the beautiful rolling hills of Oregon where I previously volunteered for many years with the local Chapter of the MS Society. As a volunteer and as a rider I have seen firsthand how impactful the research and services that they offer can be for individuals and their families living with this terrible disease.
This ride brings people together to make a difference and each mile we pedal brings us closer to a world free of MS, which affects millions of people, including our loved ones, families, friends. Every dollar you can contribute get’s us closer!
MS is an unpredictable and devastating disease that can attack any of us in the prime of life with its unpredictable symptoms - ranging from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. Imagine, one day you are ready to take on the world, and the next you are faced with the diagnosis of an incurable and potentially debilitating disease of the central nervous system. Every hour of every day a person is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a cure. Your contribution will help sustain this cutting-edge research as well as programs, and services including education, client support, and advocacy programs.
