EVENT DATE: September 25 - 27, 2017
Mount Rainier stands tall at 14,410 feet, and is the most extensively glaciated volcanic peak in the continental United States. This three-day adventure, via the Muir Corridor/Disappointment Cleaver on Mt. Rainier, is the most popular climb on the mountain. It provides an extraordinary expedition experience while allowing you to attempt the summit with the greatest of ease and enjoyment. Our first night is spent in a private hut at Camp Muir (10,000 feet) that’s already stocked with supplies, allowing for lighter packs on the approach. Our second night in a remote tent camp situated on the Ingraham Glacier at 11,000 feet gives us better acclimatization, a shorter summit day, and a wilderness experience as we climb ahead of the larger groups leaving Camp Muir. All necessary training takes place on the mountain, giving you more time to enjoy Rainier’s wondrous beauty.
Guides and Safety: Alpine Ascents will be leading the expedition as they have the best safety record in the business after 25-plus years of guiding experience on the highest mountains in the world. To read more on Alpine Ascents, click here.

About City Kids Wilderness Project: City Kids was founded on the belief that providing enriching life experiences for under-resourced DC youth can enhance their lives, the lives of their families, and benefit the greater community. The goal of all City Kids programming is to build resiliency, broaden horizons, and ensure the skills for success for our participants through intensive, long-term programming using natural and wilderness settings to encourage growth. Today, City Kids serves over 130 DC youth through a 7-year program including summer, weekend, school break, after-school, college and career support and alumni support programming. In 2016, 100% of our youth who graduated from the program also graduated from high school!
