BENEFITING: LAST MILE HEALTH
What would it be like to go to the emergency room with chest pain where the only blood pressure cuff is broken? To be in an accident but not be able to get an X-Ray? To have take your child to the hospital because an asthma attack and have there be no inhalers? These problems are all too familiar in the resource limited areas of West Africa.
Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital is a public hospital in Zwedru, Liberia and the main medical facility for the 130,000 people living in the surrounding area. It serves as a medical training site for medical providers from all over Liberia. Unfortunately, the hospital is in an unstable period as the government takes over its operations from international partners that had stepped in after Liberia's prolonged and devastating civil war.
During this transition period the hospital and its patients are struggling with severe equipment and medication shortages.
Please join Tiyatien Health and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center in supporting Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital as we work with the hospital and the Liberian government to develop its ability to provide for the needs of its people.
Small donations make a big difference. Thanks to physician volunteers there are no administrative or overhead costs associated with your donation and 100% of the money will go to the purchase of supplies for the hospital to provide medical services that would otherwise be unavailable.
The patients and health care workers at Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital thank you for your donation and compassion.
Tiyatien Health is a 501c3 non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible.
