This will be my 2nd year participting in the Laguna Phuket Triathlon (woohoo!), and during last year's race, one of the most AWESOME and UPLIFTING moments were when the local schoolkids cheered us on and ran over to give us high fives as we rode by their schools. I truly believe they helped me mentally and emotionally push through the grueling final 20-25km. And I eagerly look forward to seeing them again.
This year, the official charity for the race, "Fully Booked", focuses on helping school children in Phuket with literacy, and being a firm believer in education, I don't think there's a better way to thank such a loving community than by fundraising for their education.
Please join me in supporting the fight against illiteracy. Any amount will help make an impact!
More Than Sport is excited to partner with Laguna Phuket and "Fully Booked!" this year to help the overwhelming amount of Thai people with illiteracy and teach healthy living to the youth.
There is a major need in the area of Phuket that many of the people can't read. Joining with "Fully Booked!" we will help fund the Laguna Phuket Mobile Learning Center, which will travel around weekly to rural areas and bring education, books and supplies to the youth. The problem of illiteracy is impacting over 20 million people in Thailand.
Join me as we help "Fully Booked!" reintroduce reading back to the rural Thai youth, raise awareness about environmental conservation, and teach healthy living.
