I will be participating in the Western NY Tough Mudder in August. This is my first time and I couldn't be more excited! For the participants who attend, we are given the option to set up a fundraiser for a cause of our choice. I chose the Wounded Warrior Project.
A little background info on the Tough Mudder event and WWP:
- Tough Mudder is a team-oriented 10-12 mile (18-20 km) obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit. Tough Mudder puts camaraderie over finisher rankings and is not a timed race but a team challenge that allows participants to experience exhilarating, yet safe, world-class obstacles they won't find anywhere else.
- Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001. All proceeds raised will be going directly to the Wounded Warrior Project to aid our wounded military veterans.
This cause hits close to home for a few reasons. One being I have many close and personal friends ( some who go back to BCT) who are currently serving and who have served and it comes as a great comfort to know that they always have that support there for them if they needed it. This is an excellent fundraiser and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of it. God Bless our troops and pray for their safety and safe returning!
