EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2011
My life has changed for the better since meeting a friend’s recently adopted Ethiopian daughter, Morgan.
Morgan was born in Mudula, which is located in the Southern region of Ethiopia. This rural town with its surrounding villages has a population of approximately 10,000. Like much of Ethiopia, Mudula suffers from the effects of extreme poverty. It's most critical need is potable water.
Clean Water is a Human Right
- Over 60% of the population in Mudula lack access to potable water (and this is an underestimate - the percentage without water is most likely much higher!)
- Water is identified as the number one problem of the region.
- Clean water is the top priority of the local and regional governments.
- The 3 most common medical diseases are water-borne illnesses.
