It's hard to believe that it was 10 years ago this week (1/25) when we adopted Kathryn and Clayton at the same time. Our world was turned upsidedown that week and throughout the years, we have shared our story many times, often recounting the many friends and family members who gave financially. We are so blessed because of you!
This July, we plan to visit Guatemala on a family mission trip to serve at-risk youth with a Christian non-profit organization called Champions for Action. In a nutshell, Champions in Action connects kids from dangerous inner-city neighborhoods with long-term mentors near their own communities. Mentors spend time regularly with their kids and encourage them to make good decisions, follow their dreams, and know and love Jesus Christ.
Because soccer is such a huge passion among Guatemalan youth, Champions in Action connects kids and mentors through soccer camps. The organization relies on volunteers to make each camp happen, and we will be on the ground with Champions in Action to support this summer's camp-serving kids in person, in prayer, in music, and behind the scenes. Tom will also be doing some teaching (via translator).
Would you support our mission trip both financially and in prayer? We estimate the cost to be $6,500 which includes air fare, food, housing, and fees...everything except spending money, which are kids will be doing chores to contribute themselves. You can send support through this website directly, or you can mail a check to Champions In Action P.O. Box 49, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Be sure to include "Mullins Mission Trip" in the memo line.
I also invite you to join us in prayer. Please pray that God would begin working now in the hearts of campers, opening their hearts to the truths that they'll hear at camp. And please pray for us, that God would give us courage and energy, and prepare us to be ambassadors of Christ's kingdom and gospel.
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
