Murphy to Manteo 650 for Wounded Warriors
Organized by: Dave Cockman
EVENT DATE Oct 24, 2014
Murphy to Manteo 650 for Wounded Warriors is a 650 mile run across the entire state of North Carolina following US Route 64, from the western border with Tennessee to the ocean in the east, which makes it the symbolic representation of the phrase "from Murphy to Manteo". The run supports The Wounded Warrior Project, whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors by raising awareness and enlisting the public's aid for the needs of injured service members. (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
It is my goal to run the 400 miles from Murphy to Raleigh, in the first 8 days, averaging 50 miles a day. Then I will compete in the City of Oaks Marathon, before continuing on the last 200 miles to Manteo. I will finish the run by competing in the Outer Banks Marathon.
