Museum for High School Preservation
Organized by: Museum for High School Preservation
The Museum for High School Preservation is seeking to raise money to purchase and renovate two buses and a retired DPS building. The uses will help to preserve the memory of so many closed and demolished school buildings and the great people who graduated from them.
Your contributions will go directly towards acquisition and remodeling the vehicles and the building. Our first goal is to re-purpose a former SMART shuttle and SMART transit bus. The aggregate cost of renovation is approximately $65,000. These vehicles will serve as mobile museums that will travel Metro Detroit and show video of the great times students had in years gone bye.
Our second goal is to purchase and renovate the John L. King Elementary School building. This project will convert a blighted municipal property into a repository of keepsakes, artifacts and memories from our high school years. All contributions, no matter what size are welcomed.
Thank you for helping to keep memories alive.
