Musician Waiting for Coming Concerts!
Organized by: Janet Cannon
My friend Martha is a wonderful musician. She has shared the music of the organ and harpsichord with uncountable numbers of people, she has recorded, had an international solo career, and taught. Until this summer she also directed a choir in a retirement home and accompanied them for Sunday services. Her position has been cut, though, and at 70-plus, while she still has plenty of great concerts in her, she is unable to meet her modest monthly budget on just her Social Security. As with so many of us, her teaching positions did not come with any retirement, and frugal though she has been, her savings are very modest. I'm sure she will find some additional income- we have several concerts lined up for the fall, in people's homes and in concert venues- but in the meantime, she is very strapped and very anxious- not a good place to be in for rehearsals! Any help to cover her shortfall in the meantime will be very appreciated. And she would love to share some of her recordings with you!
