MUSLIMAT AL-NISAA wrote -As a result of Hurricane Sandy, Muslimat Al-Nisaa has seen an increase in housing requests, and unfortunately, has had to turn numerous sisters away due to lack of space.
It is our hope to renovate space in the attic and convert it to sleeping space for up to six people.
We are currently averaging 5 calls per today from sisters, some of who cannot be helped by FEMA because of citizenship issues, or long waiting lists.
Our shelter sees an increase in traffic at this time of the year normally, and the space is needed urgently.
