If you've made it to this page, I'm sure you've seen them - pictures of my big, goofy dog, Mr. Bates. We found each other in 2012 and have been best buds ever since. That's thanks to Kennebec Valley Humane Society, who took my sweet boy in as a stray, sheltered and cared for him, and finally matched him with me. Since then, I have been trying to pay KVHS back for this wonderful gift.
Each year, Mr. Bates and I celebrate KVHS and give back by walking in the Mutt Strut, a sponsored dog walk (and Mr. B's favorite day of the year). Last year, he and I raised more than $400 through the generosity of our friends. This year, we hope to surpass that amazing milestone, because we know how important these funds are to the shelter's day-to-day efforts to save the lives of companion animals in Kennebec Valley.
KVHS is an open-intake shelter that serves more than 20 communities in our area. We rely on kind-hearted animal lovers like you to support us in our mission. Please consider making a contribution - for Mr. Bates and I, and for all the other animals who just need a second chance.
