BENEFITING: FINAL SALUTE
EVENT DATE: May 31, 2014
My name is Rebecca Pedrosa and I am a female Marine Corps Veteran. After serving eight honorable years on active duty, I’m currently finishing my Master’s degree in Organizational Change from Hawaii Pacific University. As a Marine I served in Okinawa Japan, Quantico Virginia and Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
This year I decided to run for Ms. Veteran America 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 31. The purpose of the competition is to bring awareness to the homeless female veterans with or without children. Ms. Veteran America is a one of a kind Competition that was started in 2012. Trademarked in 2012, the Ms. Veteran America competition is not a beauty pageant. Founder and CEO Jaspen Boothe, an Army Veteran, Jaspen created Ms. Veteran America to showcase the “Woman Beyond the Uniform”. Ms. Veteran America has selected Final Salute Inc as their non-profit partner. Ms. Veteran America competition is held in the United States and is open to all Women who are currently serving, or have served honorably in one of the 5 branches of the United States Military.
I truly believe my obligation to service and my country did not end with my contract as a U.S. Marine but is a life time commitment.
