BENEFITING: FINAL SALUTE
It is estimated that there are about 55,000 homeless female veterans in the US. These women have served their country bravely and committed to making the ultimate sacrifice. As a candidate in the Ms. Veteran America competition, I strive to promote the awareness and eradication of homelessness among veteran women.
Some of the causes of homelessness include: Unemployment, Ineligibility for or lack of veteran’s benefits, legal trouble, military sexual trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, disabilities, divorce/separation, domestic violence, lack of family or social support network, & substance abuse.
Final Salute Inc. believes in the upliftment of female veterans and giving the respect due to them for the service they have provided to our country.
Because of your donations Final Salute inc is able to provide a safe haven for homeless female veterans. Some of the programs offered are the H.O.M.E program that provides transitional housing, on-site case management, food, clothing, transportation, child care subsidy/assistance, employment support and other essential supportive services to homeless women Veterans and their children. The S.A.F.E program is design to prevent homelessness by easing financial hardships. It provides emergency financial support by assisting with past due rent, security deposits and utility assistance, and also provides financial education resources on saving, budgeting and living on a fixed income.
Although based in the DC metro area, the programs have assisted women veterans and their children in over 30 states and territories. Help me support the Final Salute organization and their mission by donating on this page.
Thank you for your support as I vie for the title of Ms. Veteran America 2016!
