BENEFITING: FINAL SALUTE
Hello, I am currently participating in an event to bring awareness for female homeless veterans. Known as Ms. Veteran America, and Final Salute Inc. As a disabled army veteran I to have had the struggles of living homeless. I faced many different challenges when I ended my military career and began my life as a civilian. I suffered many hardships that lead to me being without a home. I began to reach out to my community to request help. Shortly after I began volunteering for a law office. I was able to use the skills that the military had trained me with. I became very successful and began to feel more of a self pride. I continued to apply for jobs and I began to look at resources that were available to me. After two years of being homeless, I received a set of keys to my new home. I landed a job and now I reach out and try to educate other homeless veterans. I have assisted in getting assistance for females so that they may continue living in their homes. I have spoken with those at the VA Hospital to try to find a way to reach out to female homeless veterans and female veterans as a whole. The numbers are low for female veterans in the healthcare system. The number roughly around 55,000 female veterans that are homeless in the United States. These number are extremely to high. Please assist in anyway you can to help lower the number and bring it to zero. Even if it is $1 or $5 it will bring us closer to our goal. Thank you for your time in reading my message.
