This is my fundraising page to help Final Salute Inc., raise money to house homeless female veterans and their children.
The number of female veterans has soared since 1990, from 4 percent of all veterans to 8 percent today, or about 1.8 million. How many are homeless is unknown, though a report by the Government Accountability Office in December found that the number who had contact with the V.A. rose to 3,328 in 2010 from 1,380 in 2006. Experts believe there are at least 6,500 female veterans sleeping in cars, shelters or on the streets every night.
Please join in and help Nikki Rattray Baldwin support homeless female Veteransby donating to this cause. ALL proceeds from this fundraising campaign will go toward funding housing for homeless female Veterans and their children. The H.O.M.E (Housing Outreach Mentorship Encouragement) Program by Final Salute provides transitional housing and housing subsidy assistance to homeless female Veterans and their children.
Final Salute Inc. was founded in 2010 by a female Veteran (CPT Jas Boothe) and cancer survivor who became aware of the large number of homeless female Veterans in the United States.
The mission of Final Salute Inc. is to provide homeless female Veterans with safe and suitable housing.
The main focus of Final Salute Inc. is housing assistance. To better assist our female veterans Final Salute Inc. also partners with other organizations that provide job training, education assistance, job placement, and counseling services.
Final Salute Inc. is taking a three-pronged approach to addressing the issues associated with the homelessness of female Veterans: Awareness. Assistance. Aspiration.
Awareness: Bringing attention to the American people that homelessness among female Veterans is on the rise and their support needs are immediate.
Assistance: Providing housing/supportive services to homeless female Veterans and aiding in the prevention of homelessness for at-risk female Veterans.
Aspiration: Instilling in homeless female Veterans that their situations are temporary and their goals are still achievable.
**If you are a female veteran facing homelessness don't give up hope, Final Salute Inc. can help you via their S.A.F.E program. The purpose of S.A.F.E (Savings Assessment and Financial Education)is to prevent homelessness by easing financial hardships.S.A.F.E will provide rent, deposit and utility assistance to all female Veterans and U.S. military reserve component service members via an interest free loan.
