Seeking to put God’s love into action, Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope in Lucas County, Ohio and around the world. In 2014 we completed construction on 5 homes with 5 future homeowners and over 28,000 volunteer hours. We completed 32 Home Repair Ministry projects including: 11 roof projects, 1 painting project and partnered with local government to complete most of the critical home repair projects.
An award from the Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge will support funding for supplies and services that provide our repair partner families and 7 future homeowner families with a "Happy Homecoming" to their new or current home. Funding will underwrite items and services that create a secure and welcoming environment that these families have sorely missed. Examples of such items and services include interior and exterior doors, security systems, windows, front porches, safe steps, roofing and other critical needs that make a house into a home where family, friends and neighbors are welcomed. Each project Habitat undertakes helps to support our vision of a world where every person has a decent place to live and this HOMEcoming Fund supported through the Art Van Charity Challenge will help these Lucas County families achieve a piece of that vision.
