September 11th was always an important day in my family, it is my dad's birthday, but in 2001 this day was changed forever. Like many, I remember the exact moment I found out about what happened in New York, but I didn't really understand the impact it had on the people who experienced it first hand. Fast forward 14 years when my mom told me about the Tunnel 2 Towers 5k that is held in NYC each year. It didn't take much convincing and we signed up and started planning our trip. I could go on forever about the experience and the emotional journey we went on, but it doesn't compare to what Stephen Siller probably experienced on September 11th, 2001 as he ran in full gear through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to Ground Zero. I can't wait to go back to NYC for the run again, but I am so proud to be a part of the first T2T 5k in Jefferson City. Please consider donating to my fundraiser to support the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and Building for America's Bravest. Thank you!
