My Dream for My Daughter
Organized by: Barbara Garrett
Hello, My name is Barbara Garrett and I am a single mom with a 19 year old daughter named Erin. We live in a community that is mostly a tourist based economy, with low paying jobs. My daughter is the most important thing in my life. We have encountered many setbacks of late, some pertaining to her health. We were living in government assisted housing and she kept getting sick. We found it was due to black mold in the walls of the apartment. So we moved but the rent is significantly higher. I am currently a truck driver that travels all over the country for my job. The pay is better than at home, but I never get to see her. I was recently told by my supervisor at work about an opening in the main office in Chattanooga, TN. I live 150 miles from there in Georgia. This new job would provide me to be able to make decent money and be at home with her, but I don't have the funds to move again. I don't like asking for anything but this is weighing on my heart that I can do this but I need some assistance from somewhere. Can you please help me and my daughter? Also, the move to Chattanooga would provide her greater opportunity as far as college being closer to us and eventually her own future career path. Thank you again.
