THE STORY:

To whom ever is reading this:
For those of you that know me, you know I would never ask for a thing, matter of fact I want to be the one to do for others always.  My blood disorder (Hereditary Angioedema, HAE) has become unmanageable to live a structured life filled with progress in all aspects of my life so now I am reaching out for a little help.

What is HAE?
Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) is a very rare and potentially life-threatening genetic condition that occurs in about 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 50,000 people. HAE symptoms include episodes of edema (swelling) in various body parts including the hands, feet, face and airway.
In addition, patients often have bouts of excruciating abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting that is caused by swelling in the intestinal wall. Airway swelling is particularly dangerous and can lead to death by asphyxiation.

A little about my situation:
I am 30 and I have secretly lived behind this blood disorder since I was 11 and as I get older my condition gets worse. I took a major turn for the worst last August. I haven’t truly been able to work or stay consistent with work because my treatment plan is no longer working. Since my Blood Infusions have stopped working I've had to visit the hospital more frequently.  Not only is this taken a toll on me, but my children as well. They are living with family since February because I simply cannot raise them in this condition and this is why it is super important for me to get to the California hospital for research and treatment. I live in Florida and there is only one Hereditary Angioedema treatment center which is in San Diego, California.  http://www.angioedemacenter.com/ .

I am on the list for travels to the hospital and it's looking like I will be able to go in July or August. The organization will help with travel, however that does not include my hotel stays, and my bills. I’ve been able to keep up with my bills with my savings, but that is running out as well since I have not been able to work. I still have my children to support and my family can only help so much. I would really appreciate any help that is offered to me! So thank you for taking the time to read this, and I appreciate any help offered.

***I believe in the gift of giving to others, so with the money that is raised I will be giving 10% of the money back to the HAE Organization!
Thank you,
Brandi Nicole
