My First Missions Trip - Haiti
Organized by: Daniel Calienes
EVENT DATE Feb 10, 2017
Over the past few years God has become a huge part of my life, I have discovered His love and grace in my life like never before. Everyday He draws me closer and closer to His heart. I have had the privilege of getting more involved at my church over the past few months; God is stretching me and molding me into the man He is calling me to be. In revealing His calling for my life, He has laid my church's missions trip to Haiti on my heart. After lots of prayer He has told me to GO - despite my fears, financial state, and doubts I have... so I have answered the call and said "here I am Lord, send me".
Here is where I really need your help, the cost of this trip is a little over $1,000; would you prayerfully consider sponsoring me in this journey of helping these Haitians (who would make a slice of bread last a week)? I am going to build shelter, bring love and hope, and care for the many needs of these people. This will not be an easy task, but I know God is going to provide everything I need while I am there. I understand some of you may not be able to give in money, so please pray for me, for my team, for the Haitians...that God would work in amazing ways and prepare our hearts for all He has for us. You all know my heart, I love to help people and you can help these Haitians too by giving; anything you can give will help, yes...even a dollar!
Haiti makes up the western one-third of the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean. The eastern two-thirds of the island is the Dominican Republic. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with 80% of the population living in poverty. Roughly 80 percent of Haitians are Roman Catholic, while fewer than one in five claims to be Protestant. Roughly 95 percent of Haitians – regardless of religious affiliation – hold at least some Voodoo beliefs or superstitions.
I invite all my friends and family to share in this experience with me. Please join me in prayer for the ministries in the Haiti as well as for my team not only while we are there but in our preparations as well. I also ask that you prayerfully consider financially supporting me on this trip. Your support means the world to me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
