My Mother's Back Surgery
Organized by: Courtney Hofer
My Mother almost has enough money for surgery.
November 23, 2016
I'm starting this for my mother. I want to surprise her with the help. My mother is a very hard worker and has been a nurse for 32 years. She worked as a home health nurse until hurting her back last year lifting a patient. My mother has degenerative disc disease, L3-4 disc bulges with fissures, L5 and S1 spondylolisthesis and spondylolysis, and needs a spinal fusion. My mother is in daily pain. She has lower back pain, some left leg sciatica and severe right leg sciatica. She can't stand or walk for very long periods, and bending and lifting are so difficult. My grandmother and I help with household chores. My mother will require 3-6 months after the surgery to heal. Our monthly household expenses are about $1500. She also is a proud woman who would not ask for help. This is why I'm doing this for her, and I love her so much! My grandmother helps with groceries when she can, but is on a fixed income. The money is for outstanding doctor bills, any surgery related expenses,
and household/living expenses during recovery. I would like to thank you for donating for my mother. I'm her only child and we have a close and loving relationship. Also, if any money is remaining we would like to donate to the local animal shelter and food bank.
