BENEFITING: The Grassroot Project
EVENT DATE: Jun 30, 2016
Look at me, not running or training for a race! (It is way too hot in Atlanta for that...)
What does it mean to turn 33? It's numerically pleasing, for one. Secondly, it marks two years longer than the age of one of my friends when he died of AIDS-related complications. That was seven years ago, and it is never far from my mind the older I get.
We need to have honest conversations with young people about HIV, about prevention, about how to be friends with someone who has HIV, and that is why I support The Grassroot Project. Check out founder Tyler Spencer on ABC7 in Washington D.C., marking HIV Vaccine Awareness Day on May 18.
Due to a recent change of one of my medications last month (no worries, all good), I'm currently a non-drinker. So that means any happy (birthday) hour event I would have had, no celebratory cheers of the alcohol kind for me.
Consider this your alternative for buying me a drink :) with the bonus of doing good. ***If you'd prefer, and you use Paypal, I can make a donation on your behalf (just get at me.)
