my wife medical bills
Organized by: laquan hawthorn
My name is Laquan hawthorn, husband of Alyssa hawthorn sad to say but my wife Alyssa has a rare disease called Myasthenia Gravis (MG). She discovered her disease in 2014 (while in grad school) and spent many long and painful days at Loyola University Medical Center. my wife underwent chemo, radiation and then open-heart surgery in March of 2014 to have her thymus gland and cancerous tumor removed from its intrustive position near her heart. Thankfully, the surgery produced WONDERFUL results and my wife is since cancer free and in remission from MG. (yay) Despite her marvelous physical recovery, my wife medical bills have not been so marvelous. We all know that health insurance only goes so far, and with her hospital stays and treatments , the cost has been overbearing and has greatly impacted her credit score (and not in a good way). Thankfully, the hospital has forgiven some of the debt, but she still owes roughly $12,500. my wife was a student when diagnosed and is currently interning to get her 3000 hours in before she can become licensed as an MFT. As you might guess, intern pay is rough (!) and is barefuly enough to make ends meet. Please consider joining me,family, and friends to help my lovely wife Alyssa raise the funds she needs over the next 30 - 60 days to pay off her medical bills once and for all. i love Alyssa and i'm so happy that she's finally given me permission to create a fundraiser page for her. :P There is no pressure to support - but for those that do, we are so appreciative! You are helping a wife and mother in great need by lifting a difficult burden. [Please spread the word!] Many many thanks! Love, Laquan and Alyssa hawthorn *Please also kindly share this post if you do choose to support so we can spread the word! **I've listed the financial goal as $12,500 due to the 8% fee my wife will incur when withdrawing the funds. If we hit the $12,500 goal, my wife will receive enough to cover her bills after the fee. ***If we exceed our goal and you haven't had the chance to donate, never fear! my wife has smaller ongoing annual medical costs that you can donate toward but my main focus is getting this first job done. Please feel free to contribute no matter if its 5$ or 1000$ anything is appreciated Help spread the word!
