BENEFITING: College Access Plan
August 2015 marks my 5th year in Los Angeles. I came to the West Coast to follow my dreams, attend a premiere university and graduate school program, and make a difference in the community. I was afforded these opportunities due to a variety of reasons: a supportive family, a semi-responsible friend group and a reliable Honda Civic that trekked across the U.S. An important factor, though, was that my public high school fostered a college-going culture. The teachers and guidance counselors kept my eye on the prize and provided me the necessary support when it came to filling out college applications and writing numerous essays. I realize and honor the impact of college readiness programs and that's why I became involved with College Access Plan (CAP) five years ago. CAP is a nonprofit that helps underserved middle and high school students succeed in college. Now as Board Secretary, I work to support CAP's important mission of helping students fulfill their big dreams. Join me in celebrating my five year Los Angeles/CAP anniversary, by donating to this great organization! Visit www.collegeaccesplan.org to learn more about the organization.
