BENEFITING: FOUNDATION FOUNDATION
Lewis Black, Chris Bliss, Bill Engvall, Bobcat Goldthwait, Dick Gregory, Kathleen Madigan, Tommy Smothers, Steven Wright, and musicians Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett are coming together for a special benefit concert on Sunday, May 13th at Phoenix Symphony Hall in Phoenix, AZ. Proceeds from this one night only event, The Bill Of Rights Comedy Concert, will be distributed to MyBillofRights.org - The Bill Of Rights Monument Project to support the creation of America’s first monument honoring the Bill of Rights, set to be located at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix. The show will begin at 7PM.
Special Founders and Presidents Circle VIP ticket packages will be available at MyBillofRights.org/concert.
“The Bill of Rights is the most powerful and successful assertion of individual rights and liberties ever written, one of history’s most important and influential documents,” said MyBillofRights.org Executive Director Chris Bliss. “It’s also the reason my fellow comedians and I get to have so much fun making a great living, so what better way to introduce this monument project to the people of Arizona than with a blockbuster comedy concert?”
“I’m excited to be a part of this fantastic concert,” added event promoter Danny Zelisko. “Some of the best comedians in the country are coming together to help raise the money necessary to build the first Bill of Rights monument in the United States. It will truly be a one of a kind event.”
The monument is being sculpted by Joseph Kincannon, one of the country’s leading stone artisans, whose design consists of ten individually shaped limestone monoliths, ranging from 7 to 8 ½ feet in height. They will be placed forming an arc along the crest of the hillside that curves along the path to the Vietnam Memorial in Wesley Bolin Plaza – a prime location directly across from the State Capitol. It is estimated that over one million of Arizona’s school children, and millions more visitors of all ages, will visit the new landmark during its 100+ year lifespan.
For those unable to attend who are still interested in contributing to this noble cause may make their tax-deductible donations at www.mybillofrights.org/arizona-project-programs.
