We had our first son in July of 2000 and like most parents we couldn't wait for him to arrive. Everything was great at first then at three week old he started having seizures. We took him to the ER and they later transported him to children's hospital. He spent the next three week there and the doctors told us they didn't expect him to ever walk or talk whitch was hard to hear but were just happy to still have him with us. At three years old Hunter took his first step and I was the happiest mother in the world. He has came a long way and still has many delays. He requires alot of medical care and always will.
In 2004 we were blessed with twin girls. The are healthy and happy . In January 2006 our surprise baby boy arrived with what we thought was just a small heart murmur. I took him to a pediatric cardiologist in March and found out it was much worse so again we were heart broken. Dominic has been being followed closely by doctors to monitor his condition. I took him for a check up this Spring because we noticed he was getting more and more tired. After his tests the doctor thinks it will soon be time to go in and repair some of the things wrong with his heart. Dominic's blood pressure is high but do to the coartation of his aorita they can't treat it with medication. So he has to go the doctor twice a month to get it checked since the heart surgery he will be having is so extensive and risky they still want to wait as long as possible. We have never asked for help before but have fallen on some hard times. My car is falling apart and my worst fear is that I wont be able to get my boy's to the doctor when they need to go.
