My Brother Needs Help
Organized by: Justin Hobson
EVENT DATE May 01, 2014
On April 5th, Mark and his friend Jesse were approached by two men who demanded their possessions. In refusing to participate in their demands, Mark was blind sided by one of the men with a severe punch to the side of the face. Both Mark and Jesse held off the attack until the two men eventually ran away.
The resulting damage of the sucker punch left Mark hospitalized, where today, April 7th, he received surgery to have his jaw corrected. Jesse, his friend, sustained minor cuts and scratches, and made it out of the confrontation in one piece.
Now like me and many other freelancers, my brother works from check to check, which doesn't afford him and the rest of us a whole lot of financial security (especially when it comes to cowardly, gang-related attacks).
In attempting to pursue financial assistance for his medical bills via the National Association of Crime Victim Compensation Board, we are here today to try and see that his healing process be made a little easier by raising the balance for his May rent, and utility bills. This act of violence will leave him unable to work for the remainder of the month.
So as a brother, I am here reaching out to you by asking for your help. Whether it's a $10, $15, or whatever you can afford, any effort on your part would make this unfortunate experience much easier to overcome.
Thank you in advance.
Mark's younger brother,
