My Dad, Bill Judkins is critically ill

Yesterday we went for ice cream. Being able to sit across from somebody that you love and adore and then being able to hug them when you leave is not to be taken for granted. I could hold him forever. Ok, here is his horribly scary story...December my father started bleeding heavily at the Pentagon and soon after he blacked out. Later that evening he was admitted to the hospital into the intensive care unit where they had to stabilize him and stop the bleeding. When they got the bleeding stopped they had to protect his airway by putting him to sleep. The doctor told me, very softly "I don't know if your father will survive tonight?!" For days we stayed near him praying and begging for his return. Once all of the blood in his belly was digested they removed the breathing tube and spent several days trying to wake him up. By an act of God - a miracle, he woke up. Since then my father has experienced a whirlwind of medical complications because his liver is scarred and in complete failure. He's met with VCU doctors on a few occasions to work toward getting on the liver transplant list. This all happened to my father suddenly and unexpected. Sadly, he's on borrowed time. Then he went into a non-pay status at which time several federal employees donated leave so that my father could continue receiving a paycheck even though he was hospitalized and not working for several months. My father is so dedicated that he returned to the Pentagon - still very sick, in March working part-time days. By the end of March my father decided to retire, probably because he is so sick and weak- but he's a conditioned combat soldier and won't say that. He didn't leave easily. I'm setting this up because when I met with my dad Saturday I could tell he's in a hardship. He will not get his retirement payment for 3 months. He owes $ on his TSP (401k) plan from hardship loans needed while he was in the rehab hospital to keep his bills paid. He would never ever ask me for anything. I know he needs help. If you have anything you would like to donate I will pass off all money shared to my dad via bank transfer immediately so he has something to get him through these critical days. I'm also going to get him food and bring it to his house. Email me if you think of anything else I'm missing. My father has given his shirt off his back more times than I could count. He's the most giving friend, relative and person you could ever want in your life. I pray he gets the resources he needs, and fast. It must add to his stress of being so sick. ❤️ Thank you ❤️
