My job decided to eliminate my position for the holidays

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my post. When I was in my late twenties I took leap of faith and moved across the country from NY to Pasadena, CA. I left with what I had in may car and some money in my account and an acceptance letter to California State University, Los Angeles. I took job at a financial institution in the call center because I needed to start working right away. I began working full time from 7:30-5:30 and then rushed to evening classes from 6pm until 10pm. I did this for two years and managed to graduate while working for the financial institution and moving up slowly . I worked for this company for eight and a half years and gave them much success by offering highly profitable lending program ideas and made them millions of dollars in loans although I never was offered or earned any commissions. I was faithful through different executives, employees and there continuous claims of "strained financials," and inability to give raises. A new executive staff came in with the sole intention of gutting the institution and they eventually found their way to me although my department was one of the few making profits. SO the new VP who had been there for a month eliminated my position and let me go along with five other hard workers who had been there eight to ten years as well. I wish I didn't have to request this but I need to be able to pay my rent as well as a car , which I bought solely because of my position, and insurance. It is horrible to think that a company would do this but unfortunately it's not a new story. My friends and family have fallen on hard times before and I've aways given to them however none of them are in a position to give right now. I am going to have to recreate my life, i know that, however I am in need at this moment as I haven't been before in my life. I live alone and my closest family is gone. This is why I am reaching out and I appreciate anyone who takes time to read my story. Thank you
