My Nursing Internship to Bolivia
Organized by: Lisbeth Gonzalez
My name is Lisbeth Gonzalez, and Im 20 years old, currently a Bloomfield College Pre-Nursing student. Ever since I was a little girl , I've always wanted to make a difference in the world . This being said I knew where I belonged, in the medical field. I've always aspired to become an International nurse , that way I can help many people all over the world. This I know will make me truly happy, as well as the people I am helping.
However, my life took a huge turn my first year of highschool. My dad was deported back to the Dominican Republic, which meant my mom basically had the responsibilities of a single mother. My mother , works full-time in order to pay all the bills, and mortgage and in order to take care of 3 children. She's done the best she can and is doing a great job so far I believe. However I've had to get a job myself in order to help her out with some bills. I do not mind helping out, although I don’t have enough funds to make one of my dreams into reality.
My dream is to become an International nurse with specialty in pediatrics. In order for this to happen I need some experience and found an Internship just for me. This internship is unpaid , but will be very educational. TThis fundraiser is for an International Nursing internship in Bolivia. While in Bolivia I will be shadowing nurses and doctors. I will also be helping kids in need. In Bolivia there is insufficient funds to maintain the facilities and to provide sufficient staff. There I will gladly help with giving vaccinations and doing basic procedures. I will also be providing health educations to families there. his would honestly be a dream to be able to help people across the globe. To bring happiness, health and joy to people would make me the happiest person. I'm just trying to make a difference even if I start out being doing small things like this. Thank you all so much in advance for your time and generosity it is very much appreciated. Hopefully, after doing this I will be able to continue to go to different countries making a difference and help kids all over the world.
