My Quest to Dolphin Quest!
Organized by: Alexandra Nicholls
Hello everyone! My name is Alexandra Mihai and I have created this page to help me pursue my dream to become a marine mammal trainer. Ever since I was two years old I have wanted to work with dolphins, seals, sea lions, whales, etc... Over the past two years I have been making this dream career become a reality and this summer I will be continuing that reality! I will be interning with a company called Dolphin Quest in Bermuda as a Marine Mammal Training intern.
Dolphin Quest is a company located on the islands of Hawaii and the island of Bermuda. They work with Bottlenose Dolphins and focus on guest interactions, education, and research. Here is a link to their website if you would like more information: http://www.dolphinquest.com/ "Dolphin Quest celebrates 27 years of excellence in animal care, scientific study and environmental stewardship. Together with your participation, Dolphin Quest has contributed well over 3 million dollars in funding, resources and field support to vital marine research projects around the globe."
With this internship not only will I continue to learn about training, how to maintain the animal's habitats, food preparation, medical examinations, etc... ; I will have hands- on experience training the dolphins! It is a dream come true and I cannot wait to start this new journey in my life.
After May of 2015, I will be a college graduate, graduating with a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology. As many know, money is an issue for many during their college career and for many years after that. The money raised on this page will help me support myself in Bermuda. It will help me pay for groceries, transportation, and rent. Because Bermuda is a foreign country, and an island, prices are through the roof! I will be living in Bermuda for four months and any money raised will help me live on this beautiful but expensive island. Also, the internship is unpaid.
Thank you in advance to those who donate, I am honestly grateful for your help. To become a marine mammal trainer is my dream and a passion of mine. They say to never give up on your dreams and that is what I am doing, working hard to reach my ultimate goal. :)
