Christine Nieves Rodriguez is a communicator, a network-waver, and a catalyst for change. Or as she likes to think of it, she is an innovation muse. Previously, Christine was a program associate for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Princeton, NJ. She joined the Foundation’s Pioneer Portfolio in December 2011 to help source new ideas, design and manage grants and provide strategic thinking for the team’s network. She helped the team identify innovations in health and health care by connecting with people who were not part of the traditional health care system. Christine represented the Foundation at various high-visibility gatherings, including TED, WIRED, SparkCamp, and Hispanicize. She became the Foundation's Spanish-speaking spokesperson for several national health initiatives, including the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps.
Christine was a presenter for the Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s Youth Award program. She emceed award ceremonies in major U.S. cities to celebrate the accomplishments of young talented Latinos in high school. She herself was a 2006 Youth Award awardee and received the Philadelphia/New Jersey Regional Gold Medallion for Leadership. Christine anchored the Just the Facts video series at FactCheck.org. This program is a product of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania. She also hosted En Portada, a program aired on WWSI – TV 62, a Telemundo affiliate in Philadelphia. The show is dedicated to informing the community about current events and interviewing elected officials, community leaders and other individuals in the news. Christine holds a BA in Communications and Public Service from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science in Evidence-Based Social Intervention from the University of Oxford. In 2008, she was a Visiting Student in Media, Law and Ethics at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Born in England, she was raised in Puerto Rico and now resides in Tallahassee, FL. She enjoys international travel, learning about startups and social justice, engaging in fierce conversations, and seeking out fine wines. She also loves devouring books and crashing good talks.
