Nahshon's Trip to Nicaragua
Organized by: Nahshon Thomas
EVENT DATE Dec 14, 2014
My Nirvana.....Serving Others
My name is Nahshon J. Thomas. I am a sophomore at Tuskegee University studying Chemical Engineering. A native from Kansas City, Kansas, my life goal is to one day own a company that sells art and eco/bio-technology. This company's #1 focus will be collecting funds to build a river in a impoverished Third-World Country without adequate water resources.
As a first step to this enormous goal, I am going to Nicaragua this December with Living Water International.
I am 18. A college kid two pennies from being broke. And I want to go to Nicaragua.
Will you help me support me?
All through out high school, I volunteered at homeless shelters, orphanages, and soup kitchens. I learned in those moments that my life is not my own. Meaning that i fell in love with serving others. I found my self...my nirvana in helping others.
Going to Nicaragua will be life changing not only for myself but also for the humans that need clean water, better hygiene practices and more bearable lives period.
Your contribution whether big or small will help me get one step closer to helping those who need it most. Without out you I will extremely difficult for me to go. Period.
So I ask again....Will you help me?
If the answer is yes...here is the Money Breakdown
The trip is 12/14/2014 to 12/20/2014 is going to cost me $2,500 easy (that is a semester of Room and Board....or a used car) :
$1,000 for the ticket (bags are free)
$900 fee for choosing Nicaragua (Per Living Water Int.)
$140 for Passport Book and Card
So that is $2040 exact minus taxes. The extra $460 will help me to get vaccines, a camera to help record the event, and purchase better water containers for the villagers I will be serving.
Also by going on this trip I get a T-shirt and Bracelet from Living Water Int.
If you still have some doubt...
I am not one who waits to the last minute to make a decision (at least not any more). I have already stocked up on snacks (water bottles, chips, candy) to sell in the dorm rooms when I return to college. So if I do not reach my total goal here, I will have some extra funds. I have enrolled in a higher level Spanish class to refine my speaking skills before I go. If I can not go this winter, I will reapply to go in the Spring.
If you can not help fund...
If you just can not contribute (or do not want too), please at least share my campiagn here on Indiegogo
Thank you for your support!!!!!!!
