THE STORY:

Nana's Foundation in the news!

Nana's Foundation, in the short few months we have been operating, has already outgrown our current space. We are looking to move into more of a retail setting in order to accomidate the need. We are currently fully booked 2 weeks out, so more space will allow for more volunteers to work at a time to help more families at once.

We can secure a retail location for as little as $1000 per month, all utilities included. All monies donated will be used to pay for the deposit and rent on the facility, as well as for insurance costs. This $5000 should fund us for the first 2-3 months! We are soliciting grants for future funding.

Primary Goal: $5000 Nana’s Foundation will be able to:

Open a retail location to provide more services to more families at a time.

Pay move-in costs and deposits

Cover the cost of Rent and Utilities for 2-3 months

Purchase supplies that are not normally donated (see our Amazon Wish List linked from our website)

Stretch Goal 1: $6000

Everything covered in the first goal

Purchase clothing racks and shelves for the store

Stretch Goal 2: $7500

Everything covered in 1 and 2

Purchase additional supplies to have a greater stock on hand

Purchase additional equipment to allow more volunteers to work with clients at the same time

Stretch Goal 3: $10000

Everything Covered in 1, 2 and 3

Help cover rent for up to 6 month or more for the new retail location

Purchase even more supplies for stock

For every additional $1000 over our final stretch goal that is raised will go to paying for our pace as well as additional supplies to help even more families.

--More about Nana's Foundation--

Families and individuals in our community lack the funds to buy basic household items and clothing. Children sleep on the floor because they have no beds. They go to school in shoes with holes. Homeless men and women lack the ability to buy basics such as toothpaste and deodorant. These are our neighbors. Nana's Foundation is on a mission to do something about it!

Our first projects, Purses of Pride and Packs of Pride have gotten off to a great start. We are receiving donations of purses, backpacks, and supplies and are passing them out to homeless individuals on the streets of our community. The recipients are excited to receive the gifts and express their gratitude with warm smiles and grateful words. We want to do more!

We are currently working out of a 140sq. foot office space that is packed from floor to ceiling with donated items. A bigger space is required in order help us reach more families.

Our next big project is to open Nana's Free Store! It is our belief that people should have access to the basic items they need, no questions asked. Nana's Free Store will be open to the public and all items will be free of charge. Inventory will come from donations from the community. Value Village has signed on to donate excess items to the store as well. What we need from you is the start up funds for the storefront.

Nana's Foundation is registered with the Secretary of State as a nonprofit corporation. Our ubi number is 603-587-692. We are in the process of gaining our 501 3 c status (paperwork filed and fees paid). Check out our website for more information. http://nanasfoundation.org
