Nancy was a truly heightened and unique spirit. Although taken too soon and we will miss Nancy, Sis or Mom, we can all recognize that the world will be amiss without her wild spirit and incredible talents. She would command a room in an instant and had the type of charisma that magnetized anyone that crossed her path. The type of person you'd go to buy groceries with and find her wandering off, befriending strangers who soon would be consumed by her smile and character. This was also present in her work.
When we take a moment to think about Nancy, one is immediately reminded of the dedication she had to her nursing career. Perhaps we can take solace in this, something Nancy cared most about.
Over the past 30+ years she devoted her life to helping those in all different aspects of the psychiatric and mental health communities, spending 10 of those specifically with adolescents, all with unmatched compassion. Her knowledge within her field astounded many and her interest in others' lives while working through the dilemmas they faced exemplified who Nancy was as a person.
At this time nothing feels more appropriate than continuing to tend to those in her name knowing she can no longer do so.
