“Our track is green, what color is yours?”
The word Nanofasa is a latin acronym made from the sentence: Natura non facit saltus, which means Nature Never Jumps. This is what lays the ground stone of our mission.
The Nanofasa Conservation Trust was founded in 2011, with the vision to conserve a larger area in the north-eastern section of Namibia. This is the last wild zone in Namibia, and the home of giant trees, endangered wildlife, communities neighboring wildlife, and last but not least the ancient San tribe.
The Nanofasa Conservation project wishes to protect a natural environment and culture as it is, by acknowledging and protecting its ecosystems. We aim to conserve all parts of the daily “nature” which includes, the local communities, wildlife and natural surroundings.
Bringing the 3 elements of our world; the modernistic society, local communities and the animal kingdom together, to develop, educate and learn from each other, and work for one vision of sustaining and maintaining the eco balance amongst us. Why is this important? How can we conserve the eco-balance and diversity in nature and culture, if we do not acknowledge and maintain this balance amongst people.
I, the founder of Nanofasa Conservation Project have done many catwalks during my time as a model for many different designers, but I never did a walk for the the african endangered big cats. The time is now here to raise money for the project that will work on sustaining the natural surroundings of the last wild zone in Namibia, which is in the Southern part of Africa. I will walk from Asker in Norway in a Southern direction as a symbol of the importance to bring funding to the southern part of our world, when we are so privileged in the northern part. I will walk all the way down the town Kristiansand which is the distance 330 km, that I will do it in 12 days. I will sleep where ever I can put up my tent, bring in survival elements of the Khoi San people and tell their stories of big cats around the fire at night.
Every contribution, small or big is important. Remember some times in life it takes many termites to build a giant termite mound.
